How to create an email account in cPanel Email Accounts
With Email Accounts in cPanel you can create new mailboxes for your domain and use them immediately in Webmail or in a client like Outlook. It’s useful when you need new directions for a team or for a specific area. Creation is immediate, but propagation to some clients may take a few minutes.
Before you start
- Have a domain added to your cPanel account.
- Define the username and a secure password for the mailbox.
Open the tool finder in cPanel
At the top right, locate the Search Tools (/) field and type email or cuentas. This filters the modules so you can enter the postmaster.
Log in to Email Accounts
Click on the result that takes you to Email Accounts. You will see the module header and the list of existing mailboxes.
Set up the new mailbox
In the CREATE AN EMAIL ACCOUNT section, fill out Username with the account ID (for example, ventas). The domain is added automatically. In Enter a password, type a secure key or use Generate if available. At the end, click Create to save. You will see the added mailbox in the list. If the Create button does not appear, scroll to the bottom of the form; In some versions the text may vary.
Test access in Webmail
In the list of accounts, locate the newly created mailbox and click Check Email. This opens Webmail to log in and confirm that access is working.
Final verification
- The new email appears in the Email Accounts accounts list.
- The Check Email button opens the Webmail home screen.
- In Webmail you see the selector or home screen of the newly created mailbox.
Common errors
- The mailbox does not appear in the list → Create was not pressed → return to the form and save the account.
- Webmail shows “invalid credentials” → password written different from the one registered → reset the password from Manage.
- Email Accounts are not seen when searching → it was not written in Search Tools (/) or it was filtered incorrectly → delete the text and rewrite
email.
