How to configure email to receive it on an external server

You can keep your hosting on one server and manage email on another. All you have to do is configure the MX records for your domain. MX records are the DNS records that map the mail server for your domain.

Steps

  1. Enter your cPanel and open the Advanced DNS Editor (Zone Editor) section.
  2. Enter the values indicated by your external email provider.
  3. Save the changes.

Note: the changes are not immediate: they may take a few hours to propagate over the internet. During that period, your email service may be intermittent or you may receive messages on both servers at random.
