How to create and redirect a subdomain?

Aim

Create a subdomain and, if you need, redirect it to another URL.

Option 1: Create subdomain

1. Go to cPanel.
2. Go to Domains > Subdomains.
3. Create the subdomain (example: app.midominio.com).
4. Assign root folder if applicable.

Option 2: point it by DNS

In Zone Editor create/edit record:

• Type A to point to an IP.
• Type CNAME to point to another hostname.

Option 3: Redirect it

Use Domains > Redirects to send the subdomain to another URL (ideally 301 if permanent).

Validation

• The subdomain responds in the browser.
• DNS resolves to the expected destination.
• SSL active if the subdomain will be public.
